History and importance of Quran
▪This is the
Book; in it is the guidance sure without doubt to those who fear Allah.
(Surah-Al-Baqarah 2:2)
▪My
community will not agree unanimously on an error. (Tirmidhi)
▪Allah does
not charge a soul more than it can bear. (Surah-Al-Baqarah 2:286)
▪Take
council with them in the conduct of affairs. (Surah-Aal-Imraan 3:159)
▪Judge upon the book of Allah, if you did not find in it what
you need, upon the Sunnah of Prophet (PBUH), and if you did not find in it,
also, then use your own opinion. (Tirmidhi, Abu Daud)
▪We have indeed revealed this (message) in the night of power.
(Al-Qadr 97:1)
▪Indeed he does not speak out of desire but verily it is
revelation sent down to him. (Surah Najm 53:3-4)
▪This day I have perfected your religion, completed my favour
upon you, and choosen for you Islam as your religion. (Surah Maidah 5:3)
▪O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger and
those charged with authority among you. If you differ in anything among
yourselves refer it to Allah and His Apostle if you do believe in Allah and the
Last Day. (Surah Nisa 4:59)
History and importance of Hadith
▪He who obeys the Apostle, obeys Allah. (Surah Nisa 4:80)
▪And I have left among you a thing which if you adhere you to,
you will never be misguided after this- The Book of Allah and what you get from
me by questions. (Muslim)
▪May Allah be pleased with a servant who heard a thing from me
and then broadcast it just as he heard it. (Mishkat)
▪While giving farewell pilgrimage sermon, Prophet (PBUH) said:
“He who is present here shall carry this message to the one who is absent.”
(Bukhari)
Relation between Quran and Sunnah
▪Allah advises you concerning your children’s (inheritance),
the male should get portion equal to that of two females. If there are only
daughters, two or more should get two third of the inheritance and if only one,
her share is half. (Surah Nisa 4:11)
▪A Muslim may not inherit from a non-Muslim, nor a non-Muslim
inherit from a Muslim. (Agreed)
▪And be steadfast in prayer, practice charity. (Al-Baqarah
2:43)
▪Pray as you see me praying. (Agreed)
Life of Prophet (PBUH)
▪Proclaim in the name of your Lord Who Created; Created man
out of a clot of congealed blood; and Proclaim your Lord is the most Bountiful;
He Who taught by the pen; taught man which he knew not. (Surah Alaq 96:1-5)
▪O you who wrapped up in the mantle arise and warn! Glorify
your Lord. Purify yourself. Give up uncleanness. Give not in order to have more
in return. For the sake of your Lord endure patiently. (Surah Mudassir 74:1-7)
▪And warn your relatives. (Surah Shura 26:214)
▪Remember how the unbelievers plotted against you, to keep you
in bonds, or slay you or get you out (of your homes). They plot and plan, And
Allah too plans, but the best planners is Allah. (Surah Anfal 8:30)
▪Permission is given, against those whom war is made (to
fight) because they are wronged, verily Allah is able to help them. (Surah Hajj
22:39)
▪Those of you who turned back on the day the two hosts met, -
It was Satan who cause them fail. (Surah Al-Imran 3:155)
▪O you who believe! Remember Allah’s blessing on you when
hosts came against you , and we loosed against them a wind, and hosts you did
not see. Allah sees what you do. (Surah Ahzab 33:9)
▪Treaty of Hudaibiya “ Surely we have granted you a clear
victory” (Surah Fath 48:1)
▪And say truth has come and falsehood has banished. Surely
falsehood is bound to perish. (Sura Al- Isra 17:81)
First Islamic Community
▪According to Bukhari and Muslim, The noblest women of the
world are Mariam and Khadija.
▪Anas said that when Allah’s messenger was asked which member
of his family was dearest to him he replied, “Hassan and Hussain.” (Tirmidhi)
▪Whoever is pleased to see a martyr on the surface of the
earth, let him see Talha bin Ubaidullah. (Tirmizi)
▪Talha and Zubair are my neighbours in paradise. (Tirmizi)
▪Amr is among the best people of Quraish. (Tirmizi)
Rightly Guided Caliphs
▪For every Apostle of Allah there was a constant companion and
my companion in the paradise will be Usman. (Tirmizi)
▪It is reported that before this (brotherhood) was announced,
Hazrat Ali came to Prophet (PBUH) and said to him, “You have arranged
brotherhood among your companions, but you have not arranged brotherhood
between me and anyone else.” Prophet (PBUH) said to him, “You are my brother in
this world and the hereafter.” (Tirmizi)
▪If I were to take anyone as my best friend, I would take Abu
Bakr, but he is my brother and successor. (Bukhari)
▪God has placed truth upon Umar's tongue and heart. (Tirmizi)
▪I see that devil either from humans or jinn, runs away from
Umar. (Tirimzi)
▪Oh Abu Bakr!, you will be my companion on the pond of Heaven
as you were also my companion in the cave. (Tirimzi)
▪Should I not feel shame from Usman to whom the angels feel
shame from. (Muslim)
Articles of faith
▪I believe in Allah, in His angles, in His books, in His
messengers, in the Last Day and the fact that everything good or bad is decided
by Allah, the Almighty, and in life after death. (Iman-e-Mufasal)
▪Allah, there is no god but He the living, self-subtaining,
eternal …. (Surah Baqarah 2:225)
▪But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you
kind and honourable writing down (your deeds) (Surah infitar 82:11)
▪We sent not an Apostle but to be obeyed in the accordance
with the will of Allah. (Surah Nisa 4:64)
▪But righteous is he who believes in Allah and the Last Day
and the angels and the Scriptures. (Surah Baqarah 2:117)
▪Every soul must taste of death. (Surah Anbiyah 21:35)
▪When the deafening blast is sounded that day man shall flee
from his brother, his mother, his father. (Surah ‘Abas 80:33-35)
▪Man can have nothing but what he strives for. (Surah Najm
53:39)
Pillars of Islam
▪I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, He is alone,
He does not have partner and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and
His messenger. (Shahadah)
▪Prayer on fixed hours has been enjoined upon the believers.
(Surah Nisa 4:103)
▪Establish prayers, for it restrains from shameful and unjust
deeds. (Surah Ankabut 29:45)
▪Charity that is concealed appeases the wrath of Allah.
(Tirmidhi)
▪Pilgrimage there to is a duty man owe to Allah, those who can
afford the journey. (Surah Al Imran 3:97)
